This unique course is designed for both beginners and advanced guitar players aiming to learn fingerstyle techniques and play their favorite music effortlessly. During my career as a guitar teacher I observed the same repeated patterns of mistakes made by most of my students. Playing fingerstyle guitar is a very complex discipline and if you don’t have the right teacher to lead you through the process you are likely to get stuck.
There are unlimited resources on the internet, but cherry-picking one piece of information here and one trick there can easily get you lost or kill your motivation. It sometimes feels like wandering in a maze. Finding a clear, step-by-step method to enhance your fingerstyle skills may seem like searching for a needle in a haystack.
Whether you’re into classical, fingerstyle, world music, folk or flamenco, the foundation needed is essentially the same. My method has roots in classical guitar, which is by far the longest guitar tradition shaped by legendary musicians throughout the history. If you want to build a strong foundation, you need a clear understanding of how the movement on the guitar works. This course consists of five modules. The first one starts by building the most important foundation for fingerstyle guitar. ABOUT ME
Hey there, I’m Václav! I’ve been playing guitar since I was 7, and it’s been my passion ever since. I moved from the Czech Republic to Vienna, often referred to as the music capital of Europe, to study music and pursue my dream of becoming a great guitarist. After graduating in 2014, I became a passionate guitar teacher and started building my career as a professional musician.
Since then, I’ve taught countless hours and dedicated myself to becoming the best guitar teacher I could be. This journey led me to the USA, where I spent a couple of weeks learning from my idol, Victor Wooten (a five-time Grammy Award winner). I also traveled to other European countries to learn from some of the best guitar teachers around. My students have won multiple guitar competitions, and I’m grateful to have a full schedule teaching them. However, I’ve reached my limit with in-person lessons, so I decided to create an online course to share my teaching method with everyone interested in understanding the principles of guitar playing and pushing their skills to the next level.

“Prameny” (The Springs) – In 2017, I discovered beautiful and forgotten folksongs from my homeland, the Czech Republic, and translated them into my own musical language. The “Prameny” project gained international acclaim. NEAPOLITAN SONGS
WITH BRYAN BENNER
In collaboration with my dear friend Bryan Benner, we’ve breathed new life into Neapolitan songs by Fausto Cigliano and Mario Gangi, resulting in the creation of two albums. Our second album, “Muntagna d’Angeli” (translated: Angel Mountain), was completed in September 2022 at one of Naples’ oldest studios. Spanning from 1551 to the 1920s, the diverse collection beautifully reflects Neapolitan history. Listen to our music on Spotify or YouTube:

If you’re not committed to regular practice or seek a quick fix, this course is not for you. It doesn’t focus on flashy techniques but aims to help you understand the fundamentals of playing, laying a strong foundation for a lifetime of music-making efficiency.
What guitar do I need?
All you need is an acoustic guitar. I’ve recorded some segments of this course using a nylon-string classical guitar and others with a steel-string acoustic guitar. However, the method remains consistent across both. The foundational principles of guitar playing covered in this course are applicable to both types.
Do I have to be able to read musical notes?
No, although all compositions and most exercises are notated in musical notes, they are also written in guitar tabs. A tutorial on how to read guitar tabs is provided in one of the starting chapters of the course. If you’re unfamiliar with it, I’ll teach you 🙂

Do I need longer fingernails?
My background is in classical guitar and as such I use longer nails to produce stronger tone. Nevertheless, the length of your nails doesn’t matter now.
